Community Health and Environmental Improvement Initiative

UBORD implemented an integrated community initiative to improve the health environment in the Umm Benin area of Sennar State, in partnership with the local community, government bodies and volunteers.

Key activities

• Cleaning roads and public streets
• Removing stagnant water pools
• Opening drainage channels
• Spraying campaigns to combat mosquitoes and disease-carrying insects

These interventions improved the local environment and reduced the risk of malaria, fevers and diseases linked to poor environmental sanitation, while strengthening community participation and volunteer action in the area.
